about

Brooding about whether to use music to make money while still dealing with some personal issues. Criticism and feedback welcome, please.

lyrics

Is this for the best
Trying to be pay off my debt
Using the things that I love to write me a check
I think I’m losing respect
For what would once help me get through impossible tests
Of character, true, I should’ve just stuck with the rest
Of what I was taught. Cut me some slack
I think I’m about to break my neck
Maybe it’s time to inspect
What’s in my heart. Pull it apart. See if there’s anything left
Of a man who said he would never let go his integrity yet
He seems to have lost it, put his own conscience to bed
I think enough has been said
Honestly it’s hard to live out your life
When inside you’re pretty much dead

Pay no mind to the poison
It’s the price for your boy's sin
Bar the door for its coming in
It’s hard to warm what was frozen
Time is trapped here in motion
Fractures swiftly are closing in

One thing I don’t get
Is that to this day I have kept
All my anger inside and played with it like it wasn’t fire
Or some dangerous pet
That only stayed in a good mood while you gave it attention
But when you turn your head
Averting your gaze, exposing your back
It then tries to maul you to death
This is the dark-side of the human mind
There’s no sun shine so your only blind
When the fear comes you can’t even cry
You can’t even run, you can only hide
I thought organizing my own thoughts on a page
Would help me get to the light
But all did was expose what a wretch I’ve become
At least I can say that I tried

Pay no mind to the poison
It’s the price for your boy's sin
Bar the door for its coming in
It’s hard to warm what was frozen
Time is trapped here in motion
Fractures swiftly are closing in

Get it together again
I know it’s hard to pick up the pieces
When you don’t have any friends
And every shard you put back in place is put back in place by
These broken hands
Somehow held in place to the frame as it’s ground into sand
Crumbling around as you struggle to float without drowning
And sink to the bottom again
That’s what you get, what you deserve
Ask for respect? You got some nerve
Say you’re in pain? I hope it hurts
Mistakes can be a lessons, you better learn
You better yearn for something better
Cuz the path that you’re on will just leave you burnt
I tried my hardest I’ll ask for pardon
I think my fate is already confirmed

Pay no mind to the poison
It’s the price for your boy's sin
Bar the door for its coming in
